The walls are starting to get pained and the ceiling is being dropped. Construction continues in D-Lab’s premises as christmas approaches. Check out the images on the photo album above!

By Hector Fernando Burga Staff, students and faculty at the third floor at Barrows have been witnessing much activity on the North side of the building. Construction workers have been diligently taking apart wall partitions and placing new metal channels to provide the skeleton for what will soon be D-lab’s Collaboratorium space. The schedule is being fulfilled and slowly the space is being transformed through the efforts of a team which includes architects, D-Lab staff, and students.

By Claudia Von Vacano A close colleague of mine from the School of Education recently said to me, “Let me buy you a drink soon so that you can tell me all about your work at D-Lab. I find myself spending hours figuring out how to get access to qualitative and quantitative software and it’s so expensive. I am also looking for support in terms of how to use various software like ArcGIS and social network stuff. I can’t wait to be part of D-Lab.” This quote is very interesting to me for several reasons.

By Savet Hong Over the past couple of months, we have been coordinating the design and re-envisioning of our “Collaboratorium”, a unique public area in D-Lab which will be dedicated to student consultations, workshops and one-to-one instruction. With the help of architects, project managers and consultants, we have reached the point of demolition. Finally the walls have started to tumble down, and soon our vision will soon start to become a reality according to new plans, proposals and the introduction of new infrastructure.
