By Mario C. Delgado Developing the infrastructure needs for a new workspace from scratch can be a daunting task. Particularly, if those needs have to address the collaborative nature and inter-disciplinary work of D-Lab. Our technology infrastructure team is currently collaborating with the space planning team to develop a list of public infrastructure needs that will define the space that is under construction. For a data-driven research center like D-Lab, technology is very important to maximize the general literacy of Data availability and also to allow a multiplicity of collaborative space configurations for the users of the space. We are currently evaluating the best laptops, desktops, whiteboards, projectors and webcams that will maximize the utility of the new space to ensure its best possible use.
