Description
Type:

NIH requires that all peer-reviewed articles published since April 2008 be made publicaly available through its PubMed Central repository.  While the basic premise is simple – taxpayer funded research should be available to all – the logistics are not.  This workshop will include a step-by-step guide and documentation of how to submit the article to the system, and how to link it to the NIH grant that at least partially funded the research.  Targeted audience:  Grantees who have received NIH funding as PIs, as key personnel, postdoctoral scholars and more fall into this category. Other categories include students who are funded by NIH fellowships (e.g., a T32), students who work as GSRs and then publish work, as well as peer-reviewed articles that emerge from GSR support, even if the GSR was not an author. Authors who have received pilot funding from the Popcenter and CEDA are also obligated. Technically, it is the job of the PI, but supporting a PI is also a good thing to do.
