Location:
356B Barrows Hall (D-Lab Convening Room)
Description
Type:

Participatory action research (PAR) is a framework for creating knowledge that is rooted in the belief that those most impacted by research should take the lead in framing the questions, design, methods, analysis and determining what products and actions might be the most useful in effecting change. A key departure in participatory research is the commitment to elevating the status of respondents to research assistants as a means of sharing ownership and governance of the work. Please join education phd candidate Rachel Roberson to learn more about how to navigate the design and launch of a participatory project. In addition to providing an overview of the epistemological and political commitments of  PAR, Rachel will provide best practices and review frequently asked questions and considerations.
