When & Where
Date:
Mon, February 9, 2015 - 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM
Location:
D-Lab Convening Room, 356 Barrows Hall
Description
Type:

This workshop presents an overview of what it means to conduct survey research using traditional as well as some new technologies.  For anyone who is considering embarking upon a quantitative data collection project for the first time (or second, or third…) this will give you a foundation to understand what you need to learn.  Because survey research is built upon over 100 years of experimental design research, consider this course as documentation of criteria you need to consider for creating a scientifically valid database. We will cover methodologies (e.g., telephone, mail, web); sampling; questionnaire construction; respondent incentives and resources for further learning.  This course serves as a prerequisite to a workshop on Questionnaire Design.
