When & Where
Date:
Thu, October 4, 2018 - 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM
Location:
Barrows 356: D-Lab Convening Room
Description
Type:

This workshop will cover methods for mapping tabular geospatial data. Participants will learn how to add columns (or fields) to the attribute table that describes geographic features. This allows new variables to be created, updated, mapped and analyzed. We will then explore data table joins that allow you to link the content in two tables together based on a common field. We will be using QGIS to explore these two tools. Along the way we will work through some commonly encountered problems with joins.

Technology Requirements: Bring a laptop with QGIS 2.18 installed.

Knowledge Requirements: Students should have some basic experience with QGIS and GIS, such as that provided by parts 1 & 2 of this workshop series or by doing chapters 1-4 of the QGIS 2.18 Training Manual (https://docs.qgis.org/2.18/en/docs/training_manual).
