When & Where
Date:
Mon, December 8, 2014 - 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM
Location:
D-Lab: Convening Room (356 Barrows Hall)
Description
Type:

This workshop will introduce address geocoding - the process of determining the geographic location of a street address - using ArcGIS. The first part of this workshop will be an introduction to the process of geocoding and the various online and desktop tools available for geocoding. We will then review and demonstrate the three ways that you can geocode addresses with ArcGIS: (1) via ArcGIS online, (2) via local ArcGIS Streets data, and (3) using other local streets data. We will discuss methods for geocoding anywhere from one to one million plus addresses. The second part of the workshop will be an optional tutorial in which we will work with you to geocode sample addresses (feel free to bring your own data if you have it). Attendees who wish to try geocoding should bring their laptop with ArcGIS installed. UCB faculty, staff and students can get a free license for ArcGIS via the GIF website (see link below).
