When & Where
Date:
Thu, December 8, 2016 - 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM
Location:
Barrows 371: D-Lab Breakout Room
Description
Type:

This workshop will provide an introduction to spatial analysis in R. After a brief review of spatial data types in R we will geocode a set of addresses and then ask spatial questions of those locations. For example, we might ask what school district is a location within, how many locations are within X distance of each shool, or what is the census tract id for a location.

This workshop assumes basic competency with R such as that provided by the D-Lab introductory R workshop series. We also assume a basic familiarity with geographic data. Please bring a laptop with RStudio installed to follow along.

Note, this is a pilot workshop. As such we very much welcome your active participation and feedback during and after the workshop.
