Sebastian Benthall is a PhD student at the School of Information. He is interested in collective intelligence in an open collaborative setting, with a focus on open software development. He is also interested in the foundations and limits of data science.
Cyrus Dioun is a doctoral student at the UC Berkeley Department of Sociology. He has a B.A. in Public Policy Analysis from Pomona College and an M.A. in Quantitative Methods in the Social Sciences from Columbia University. For his dissertation, Cyrus is using computational techniques and big data to map the emergence and transformation of markets.
