When & Where
Date:
Thu, October 18, 2018 - 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM
Location:
Barrows 356: D-Lab Convening Room
Description
Type:

This workshop is Part 2 of a two-part series on survey sampling. Multi-stage sampling is required when a complete list of the target sampling units (persons or households) is unavailable or too expensive to assemble. This workshop will discuss how to select units in stages so that the final sample is a probability sample of the defined population. Even those who do not intend to carry out their own multi-stage sampling may benefit from understanding how the process works.

An additional workshop in the spring will cover the post-data-collection topic of weighting.

Prior knowledge: This workshop presupposes some basic knowledge of sampling. Completion of Part 1 of this series should be sufficient.
