Type: 

The workshop will cover (in a teaching computer lab environment, using the General Social Survey as a common dataset): Getting data into Stata, -Stata specific tools and resources (do files, logs, help files, etc) -Coding and cleaning data (making new variables from old variables; labeling variables and values, etc) -Collapsing data -Descriptive statistics (tables and graphs) -Crosstabs -Correlation tables -T-tests -Regression (OLS, logistic, interpreting output) -Regression post-estimation (getting predicted values, graphs, etc) A basic understanding of variables (nominal, ordinal, continuous), descriptive stats (mean, standard deviation), correlation, and regression would be assumed (for help, we can point you to some resources). No knowledge of Stata or any other statistical software would be expected.
