Celia is the qualitative research librarian in the UC Berkeley Library. She has done ethnographic research in Mongolia and Kazakhstan, and leads workshops on qualitative methods and qualitative data management.
This workshop covers how to organize and analyze qualitative data in Atlas.ti. The training will explore what CAQDAS (qualitative analysis) software is, and the benefits of using it to review and analyze your qualitative fieldnotes, text, video, or audio. It will cover organizing and importing your research data, coding and categorizing your data, adding commentary through memos, and using a query tool to run searches on the results. Both new and experienced qualitative researchers are encouraged to attend.
Prior knowledge: No prior knowledge is assumed. Beginners are welcome!
Technology requirement: If you would like to follow along, download and install a trial of the Atlas.ti software (optional).
