Ariel H. Bierbaum, MCP is a fourth year Ph.D. candidate in the Department of City and Regional Planning at the University of California, Berkeley. Ariel’s research interests include urban policy, racial inequality, and public education. Her dissertation examines the relationships between Philadelphia's public school closures, neighborhood change, and broader patterns of metropolitan inequality.
