In this workshop, attendees will learn about the unique attributes of qualitative research as an applied social science method, the strengths and limitations of qualitative approach, and an introduction to what it means to code qualitative data. Students will learn about important things to consider when choosing a qualitative software analysis program, and receive a brief introduction to software MaxQDA, including a live demo to learn about its interface. Students will see how MaxQDA can be used to set up a code system, code verbal and multi media segments of qualitative data, and export segments of codes for further analysis.
