Location:
356 Barrows (D-Lab Convening Room)
Description
Type:

The following qualitative data analysis workshop is being offered as part of an intensive series.  Workshop attendees are welcome to pick and choose which sessions best fit their qualitative data analysis needs.  If, for example, you already know you are interested in working with Atlas.TI or NVivo, please attend the Atlas.TI or NVivo sessions and skip the Introduction to Qualitative Data Analysis workshop, which focuses on why one might prefer to use a QDA package.  Alternatively, if you don't know if you want to use a QDA package, definitely attend the Introduction to Qualitative Data Analysis workshop.

Each day of the intensive will begin with a 2 hour workshop and be followed by an optional working session from 12-2pm where workshop participants can get one-on-one advice from the workshop leader including assistance setting up their own Atlas.TI or NVivo database.  Please note this optional session will NOT be offered following the NVivo workshop, but is offered for all subsequent workshops.

Qualitative Intensive Day 3: Qualitative Data Analysis with Atlas.TI

Wednesday, January 13th

This workshop covers how to organize and analyze qualitative data in Atlas.TI. Both researchers new to qualitative methods and experienced qualitative researchers are encouraged to attend. The training will outline the key decisions the researcher must make about the unit of analysis, their coding approach, and what data is most relevant, as well as review the use of codes, families, and queries in Atlas.TI.
