Colleen Kohashi, MA, CIP, joined the University of California Berkeley’s Office for the Protection of Human Subjects (OPHS) in April 2009. Colleen, a graduate of American University (BA, International Studies) and Columbia University (MA, International Education) is a former Fulbright Grantee. Upon joining OPHS, she became the lead IRB coordinator tasked with supporting multi-campus applications for the UC system. In addition to her multi-campus responsibilities, Colleen reviews expedited applications and also participates in many of OPHS’ education outreach seminars.
Diana Holt, MS, CIP, serves as an OPHS staff analyst. Prior to joining UC Berkeley, she had a long career with Kaiser Permanente Division of Research (DOR) in Oakland. Her work as a project coordinator included preparing Institutional Review Board (IRB) applications. Her enthusiasm for human subjects protection issues led to the creation of a full-time position. As DOR's IRB Liaison, she pre-reviewed all the department's IRB submissions, provided consultation, and led workshops on IRB and research compliance matters.
