Dr. Samuel is a Senior Epidemiologist and Data Scientist with the Fusion Center for Strategic Development in the California Department of Public Health. In this position he works on public health economics, data visualization technology and related policy, and other aspects of the future of public health in California. Previously, he was in charge of STD Surveillance and Epidemiology in California, worked as a Medical Epidemiologist for the Foodborne Diseases Active Surveillance Network (FoodNet) component of the California Emerging Infections Program, and worked on many aspects of HIV/AIDS surveillance and epidemiology (in New Mexico, Switzerland, and California). He has assisted with multiple international HIV/AIDS, biostatistics, and related computer application trainings, and has published extensively in the scientific literature. He has BS, MPH, and DrPH degrees from Cal—Go Bears!
