Debbie Anderson is a Researcher in the Department of Linguistics who runs the Script Encoding Initiative project, a project that helps get eligible characters and scripts into Unicode. She is the UC Berkeley representative to the Unicode Consortium and the UCB liaison to ISO/IEC JTC1/SC2 on coded character sets. She is also a Unicode Technical Director and has been involved with Unicode since 2001.
