Alex is a graduate student in the German department. His primary interest is the historical phonology of the Germanic languages. In the past, he has worked on projects such as syllabification of historical languages and machine learning models for predicting poetic meter. He is currently interested in using computational tools to evaluate the early development of the Germanic languages.
