Webscraping in Python: Part 1

Please note: This is a two-part workshop series. The first session will occur Monday, April 24 from 1:00pm to 4:00pm. The second session will occur Friday, April 28 from 2:00pm to 5:00pm. You can register for the second session here.

This two-part workshop series will teach you how to conduct webscraping in Python. We will cover the following topics:

• How the web works
• HTML / CSS
• Manipulating a webpage with Google DevTools
• Webscraping with Beautiful Soup
• Scraping javascript-heavy and interactive sites with Selenium (Time Permitting) 

Prior knowledge: We will assume a basic knowledge of Python. Attendance at D-Lab's previous Python for Everythong workshop series should provide a sufficient foundation. 

Technology requirements: Laptop required. Please make sure you have the requisite software by following these instructions.
