Info session co-sponsored by D-Lab and the School of Information:
Have you been building a data-centric project in a scientific domain? Are you running an open-source meetup on campus? Any toolkits to enable reproducible science? The first annual Data Science Faire (December 12, 2013) is the place to showcase your efforts to a broad audience, demonstrating the breadth and diversity of data science research at UC Berkeley.
The Data Science Faire is sponsored by the soon-to-be-announced Berkeley Institute for Data Science (BIDS). This November 19 info session is for all researchers (students, postdocs, faculty, staff) who are considering proposing a poster, exhibit, or table. You need to submit a proposal by November 25. You will be notified by December 2.
Come explore
- What "data science" can include
- Some ideas that others are proposing
- Tips for making a good exhibit
Lunch will be provided for participants who register.
This info session is being held in D-Lab (356 Barrows Hall) and led by Josh Bloom (BIDS/Department of Astronomy). It is co-sponsored by D-Lab and the School of Information.
