Geocoding and Mapping in R

This workshop will introduce geocoding - the process of determining the geographic coordinates for place names, zip codes or addresses. The first part of this workshop will be an introduction to the process of geocoding and strategies for achieving good results. We will practice this workflow using the R ggmap package, which calls the Google Geocoding service. We will create maps of geocoded addresses using the ggmap and ggplot packages. The workshop will also show you how to link geocoded address data with census data in R.
