Basics of Excel: Part 2

This class will cover the basics of Excel, from simple formulas (SUM, COUNTIF) to more complex Excel features like Macros and the Data Analysis ToolPak. By the end of both sections, students will be able to employ Excel skills to open source policy data sets. These skills are transferrable to any sector.

Visualizing Data: Theory and Best Practices

This workshop will cover theory and techniques for maximizing the effectiveness of figures used for visualizing information. Rather than teaching any particular visualization software, this course will teach students about the "nuts and bolts" of effective data visualization.

QMG Presents: Introduction to MAXQDA 3/3: Advanced Features, Part B

This is a three-part series for qualitative researchers interested in learning about MAXQDA, a qualitative data analysis (QDA) software program for which D-Lab provides substantive support. Participants who do not have MAXQDA are encouraged to download the trial and use their own data sets to engage in hands-on learning durng the workshop. A sample data set, provided by the facilitator or included in the trial, can be used. This session presents some of MAXQDA's more advanced functionality, such as the code relations browser, documents portrait, and MAXMaps features.
