Description

Women of color face many barriers to data-intensive social science including lack of access to technology, adequate training, and support. Women Coloring Data is a working group that was initiated by the D-Lab to address some of these challenges. The group is guided by faculty and alumni with the broad participation of graduate and undergraduate students. Women Coloring Data has succeeded in bringing more Underrepresented Minorities into the D-Lab and familiarizing them with the resources D-Lab has to offer. We are meeting every other week over the summer and we would like to invite other women of color to participate. Currently, the group is working on a WordPress site in order to showcase the portfolios of the women involved and to provide tips and tricks in data-intensive social science.
