Do you have a research question or set of materials or data to work with, but you're not sure what's out there? Are you looking for ideas and wishing to know more about the landscape of Digital Humanities? Are you just curious about DH? I offer general consulting in Digital Humanities for people who want a better idea about the tools, training, and techniques that might help in their own projects. I also teach workshops and give consulting in the XML ecosystem and related technologies, such as TEI, HTML, xPath, xQuery, XSLT, and KML.

Scott Paul McGinnis is a Ph.D. student in history at the University of California, Berkeley, with a focus on early Chinese intellectual history and historiography. He first became interested in the digital humanities while pursuing a master’s degree at Washington University in St. Louis, where he worked on TEI-based text encoding projects for that university’s Digital Library Services unit. He is experimenting with ways to use computing technology in his research on early China, and is also interested in the digital humanities as a subject of inquiry.
