Luis is an undergraduate transfer student completing his second year at Cal. He is majoring in Art History with a minor in Digital Humanities. He focuses on queer culture and aesthetics, new media, virtual reality, and immersive performance art. Luis has had the opportunity to blend his art history knowledge and interests with digital methods and tools, from crafting three-dimensional virtual models of Japanese Netsuke figures to creating an interactive educational art history app for those digital artworks. Luis earnestly looks forward to meeting the diversity of students and opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration on this semester's digital humanities projects. When he has free time, he enjoys reading science nonfiction or drawing in his sketchbook.
