Cecilia Cissell Lucas earned her PhD in Social and Cultural Studies through UC Berkeley's Graduate School of Education, where she examined the potential and pitfalls of white people's engagement in racial justice and decolonization processes. She also holds a BFA in Theater and Performance Studies from University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and has been a fellow with the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts. She currently teaches courses at UC Berkeley on Art & Activism, Education & Social Change, and Global Poverty & Practice. (Longer bio here.)
